Kipling's Retreat is a simple, one bedroomed apartment with clean, simple neutral decor.  Situated in the historic coastal village of Rottingdean, romantically positioned between the South Downs National Park and the Sussex Heritage coastline.  

The recently refurbished apartment (2012) forms a self contained upper floor of a large bungalow, with stairs leading to a living room with kitchenette and views over the fields where horses graze.  It contains a double en-suite bedroom, and has exclusive use of the front garden.  It has wireless broadband, digital radio and plenty of books to browse and is an ideal retreat for writers, painters, walkers or cyclists looking to avoid worldly distractions!

The apartment will comfortably accommodate a small family or a couple, looking for a quiet village break next to the sea within easy reach of Brighton (about 10 minutes on the seafront bus).  

A cot is available with prior arrangement  at no extra charge.  There is a booking minimum of two nights and single night supplements are not available for this apartment.  Arrival times are fairly flexibleDeparture time is before 11am.  A damage/misuse deposit of £200 will be secured against credit/debit cards 3 days prior to the booking or on arrival.  As with all our accommodation it is strictly no smoking. 

Rottingdean is famous for it's salubrious smuggling history, but also writers and public figures past and present, including Rudyard Kipling, Enid Bagnold and Edward Burne-Jones.
